Twin duckling egg.

To those wondering why I didnt wait. I candled this morning and only saw black where the babies had been. One the the feet and bottom I could see and if I moved the egg slightly it moved around freely. I've only seen it in dead eggs.

Wild! They look to have died earlier than 15 days?

I saw them moving at day 10. They died somewhere between day 11 and day 14 (had my days mixed up
I thought of you today when I saw a heartbeat while candling....don't think I've ever seen one before.

I love seeing it. Makes me feel so happy. For some reason I always candle at day 3 just so I can see the very first of the development

It's fascinating.
I usually don't candle until day 7, probably why I didn't see one before, but have some wonky air cells I was keeping an eye on.
It was in the wonkiest one that I saw the heart beat.

I see the air sac which means that they are still alive :)

Actually the air sac has nothing to do with whether a chick is still alive or not :)

With my 12 twin eggs I’d see the air sac discolor but it was always there.

Oh, that's really interesting. Do you have a pic from another angle? That's a rare little specimen, I'd hang onto that. Or give it to a friend who likes weird animal specimens.
