One hatched, the other one wasn’t developed ：）

I was talking about the other chick who hatched a couple days ago. I think @TundraFang has 2 chicks now, unless more hatched.

I had one chick hatch from a twin egg this spring! He was all covered in the yolk of his twin (who stopped developing early on, but when I candled there was definitely twins at the beginning).. he's now a 12 week old cockerel that I'm probably going to have to send to freeze camp since I have 11 little fighting roos now!

Glad you got one from your twin egg too, that's so exciting.

And the moment you've all been waiting for- the chick names! For the older chick we chose the name Akir (Pronounced Ah-kere) which means one or lone but can also mean beloved. For the chick from the twin egg we chose the name Gemini which is an astrological sign but also means twin. Both are doing great and already have the beginnings of wing feathers. Thanks for everyone's advice and name suggestions. I really enjoyed reading everyone's responses! I wish I'd joined BYC sooner! If anyone's interested check out my new thread where I share stories and pictures of my flock. I'll post updates on Akir and Gemini as they grow and more!
