Twisted Toes

I've had good success in wrapping each deformed toe separately with medical paper tape I've tried doing the cardboard web thing but the other chicks would pick at it

one of the marans; lorna has a 'crippled toe'.
when they were chicks we had kanner at the vets because he had been born not as developed/very small, was sickly and became very ill with cocciodosis, the vet asked about the other chucks and said of lorna there wasnt a need for us to strap it up unless it is affecting her-and he was right because lorna has absolutely no problem running around or balancing, kanner is now a healthy strapping big lad to- http://sadpanda.us/images/1216486-4WSYKC9.jpg [cuckoo colour is kanner, ginger is lorna, the other young lady is temple and the show off boy at the back is tito].

In most cases the chick will adjust and learn how to walk, but when you have show chickens and plan on showing them, its better to try to correct the problem. Usually I only need to put the tape on for a couple of days to correct it.
