Hi.
About a month ago I walked into the coop and there was a dead squirrel on the floor inside the door. About a week later one of my chicken was dead, laying there, legs out behind. About a week later we found another dead squirrel in the yard near the coop. Today, one of my hens, who I thought was just resting inside to escape the heat, I found dead, flat faced, legs out behind.
My question. We have bubonic plague out here. I am curious if the squirrels had it (I will never know), and if chickens can get it. Or what else might be causing the chickens to die like that.
Thank you for your input!
