So, I recently bought two ringneck ladies for my two lonely bachelors. A few days after I added the girls to the aviary, one of them laid two eggs in a makeshift nest I created by stringing up a fleece baby blanket like a hammock. It's really strange because all four doves have claimed ownership of the eggs and they all take turns on the nest. Most of the time THREE doves will be piled on top of the the little eggs. I don't know who the mama and daddy are! If the eggs hatch, will all four doves raise the babies?

Ringneck doves are just so lovey dovey!

I have two trios like this in my loft right now. Two dads always sitting on the nest, usually huddled together. So I'm always wondering "Who's the momma?". At least 3 of them will take care of the babies. The 4th one may join in too! I know this because one of my trios are on babies right now. I went in there a little while ago and found the daddies sitting on the babies together

So sweet!
Your other hen may lay eggs in there also, in which all 4 really will join together.

After Reading This I Was Not Going To Coment But Raiseing Doves Like This In A Few Generations You Will Have Problems Of Birds Raiseing . Just Not A Natural Thing And As Man Keeps Letting Things Like This Go On It Becomes Real And Birds Do Not Know What To Do . Get More Pens And Nests I Know This Sounds Crazy But Ask Seasoned Breeders About It.

They hatched one!! I didn't want to mess with Estefan (the dad) too much, since he seemed a bit perturbed when when I poked around in the nest. But here is one of the proud papas! You can see a little leg poking out. I had to be at work all day yesterday, so I'm not sure if the chick hatched today or yesterday.
