Two ducks

Could I just get two ducks? Do I need more then two for them to stay happy? Also, do ducks sleep in a coop and roost and night just like chickens? AND - Can I keep them with the chickens? Are male ducks loud/bad/mean/etc?
I might be getting ducks this spring.

From my experience, ducks can be very aggressive. However, only initially to put the pecking order into place, just like any bird. Drakes are also reasonably loud. Also, yes a pair of them is good enough for them. Finally, ducks don't roost and will be perfectly happy sleeping on soft straw or shavings on the coop floor.
P.S. Ducks are semi-nocturnal, so if you're gonna be sleeping within hearing distance, get ready for sleepless nights.

Ducks do great in pairs, the only problem is if one dies you need to introduce another duck to the flock which can sometimes be challenging. IMP More ducks the better but two should be fine. Ducks sleep on the ground besides muscovies which roost like chickens a barrier by the roost so the ducks don't get pooped on wouldn't be a bad idea.

I keep my male's duck's with my chickens and they get along great, Personalities differ between drakes but for the most part, they leave the chickens alone if they have a mate. Drakes have a very raspy voice so make little to no noise. They can sometimes be very hormonal with there mate come spring so be prepared.

I don't think you will regret getting ducks they are lovely to have around!

Huh, I remember my Pekins being quite loud. I couldn't mind them but they drove my mom nuts!

i wouldnt have a male duck around chicken hens though! the anatomy could cause the chicken internal damage!

Female Pekins are loud for sure, They about send off an earthquake when they quack.

Yes, they do its adorable.

I've never had a male duck try to mate a hen once. Problems like that occur when there is a lack of females to mate with or insufficient room to roam.

I havent had it happen alot, But its happened here, Like you seid if there isnt enough duck hens, Or if the chickens and ducks were brooded together it seams they see each other more as equals

I should have seid, its a risk and keep your eyes on them because like people sometimes a male duck is just a mean jerk
