Two hens who never developed full combs, possibly not laying yet.

I got my chickens last April, 4 barred rocks and 4 wyandottes (plus 1 wyandotte roo). It seems like one of each never sexually matured. One barred rock and one wyandotte have immature looking combs and seemingly never laid an egg. I say seemingly because I've never seen them in the nest box and I never get 8 eggs in a day; it's always 6 or less. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
I agree with Aart. None of those breeds are what I would consider prolific or daily layers

But... I had a splash Marans hatched last Feb from Meyers... her comb just barely started pinking up and I got my very first egg from her last week at one year old. That's too late of laying for me to keep in my genetics... even though she may still lay the same number of eggs over her life span. And technically the eggs are larger and not pullet sized from the beginning.

Surely winter lighting has had some impact. Is there a possibility of a hidden nest?

Like my 7 Barred Rocks. All were laying around 23 weeks and it took another 2 weeks before I got 7 eggs the same day. 20190211_095420.jpg . GC
