Well I only got one chick out of two doz eggs hatched. All were shipped to me and one doz was questionable because it looks like when I candled them at fifth day, they were about 10-12 days into development while the other ones were four days into development. The "older" embryoes were already dead so it is very very questionable. So out of those developed embryoes, I had four eggs that was just right day when I candled them and two were infertile. Only one blue Am. bantam chick hatched. I am reallly questioning this breeder sending out half developed embryoes along with "fresh" eggs that this chick came from.

The faverolle bantams didn't hatch, all of them died around day 15 so it is no one's fault there and shipping was hard on them. Many of them had blood rings and some of them just stopped growing.

So those two hens are sisters and they do dote on this sole chick and I do not see them fighting one another for the chick. So would it be wise to let them be parents to the chick or get more? The Rural King chicks are anywhere from one and half weeks to two weeks of age and I do not think those chicks will take on their new mothers easily as this chick.

I think both of them as of today did not set on the eggs. They sat away from one other broody hen who just started her broodiness about four days ago.

I do not want to end up buying chicks if those two sisters dote on that chick themselves. Should I try and see if there are any other younger chicks out there somewhere that would take them?
