My sons darn dog got loose today several times so I wasn't surprised when my son came in and told me there was a dead chick in the yard. I went outside to see how bad it was and she was loose again. I chained her up in her pin this time and walked out back to see what had happened. There was several dead chicks and several gone all together. I was gone maybe 10 minutes tops and found my sons dog had jumped over the fence, with the chain on, and hung herself. So now I've got a dead dog, dead chickens and my van has died.

    Thats not it.

My neighbor is a tow truck driver and he came over a little bit later to get the van and I told him, "The darn dog got loose and killed a bunch of chickens." He said "A dog?" like he didn't know we had a dog. He said, "No I was under that car working and a chicken ran out of the woods at me and a bobcat was chasing it" :hmm

That explains now why my coop has a hole in the wall!! I hadn't noticed that when I went looking for bodies. I suppose the chickens that are gone are the ones the bobcat got and the ones dead in the yard are the ones the dog killed. This all happened between 12 and 3 today while I was in town.

Not only do I have to worry about my chickens, now I won't let my kids go play in the yard. Today has been one horrible day.

Take a nice, hot bath and drink a cool glass of lemonade and recharge your batteries.

My day was nothing like yours, but it had its own share of doodoo & I'm gonna take a glass of lemonade and sit out in the chicken yard.

Gosh, let's hope you used up your quota of bad luck for the year.

    Thanks guys [IMG]

It looks like for sure the bobcat got my easter egg roo, (I'm so upset about that) and my sons partridge rock he called Brownie. He's going to be torn up. My other son is going to be torn up over the dog.

I'm so afraid to go outside for any amount of time and I need to fix the fencing and coop as much as I can.
