Two just popped out of the shell

Ok, so two frizzles(?) just popped out of the shell. (waiting on the rest to even pip). Both look black and are very noisy.

Question; I never seem anything like this but the one is huge and has a pink comb already?

My last hatch I had two HUGE eggs, and I got two HUGE chicks. One is clearly a roo at this point (3 weeks old) and the other is debatable.

Wowzer, that's awesome....cant help about the Comb..

Yesterday I hatched 4 frizzle Cochins..hoping the 4th one makes it, struggling...

But none have combs on them.

I could see some comb on two of my current batch the day they hatched, and I've known for about 2 of their 3.5 weeks of life that I have 4 roos.

That's OK, they are for the freezer. Might keep the pullet.

How old do they have to be before you turn them into chicken for the table? I don't know about this little roo. I think he is a cochin frizzle. May keep him! I'll have to see. I'll post photos shortly.
