Two of my chickens have never laid an egg. Why?

Any cheap cat food will do. perferbly without color dye. This is added to normal layer feed and not a sole diet changed. Only do for a couplde of weeks or every other day for a month.

My first egg came about a week and a half ago at 32 weeks from a RIR. Then we got nothing for a solid week. Now, we get one egg a day since Sunday!! My BO's are about a week or two young and have not begun laying. But just today, I saw our roo mating one, the one with the reddest comb and wattles. I have never seen him mess with any but the RIR, so I think she's gonna lay soon. I know the roo began "paying attention" to the RIR right before she started laying, so hopefully that's a sign. Just in the last week, it seems like the cochin and this particular BO have turned really bright red in the comb and wattles. So some are really slow. I think there's something to the protein thing others are talking about. I cut mine back to nothing but their food and no treats and "junk". May try the cat food if something doesn't happen soon.

Cochins aren't great layers, and are slow to mature. She may lay in the spring- days have been getting shorter for months now, most chickens are not laying (unless on supplemental light). Not sure on the BO, but if they were at point of lay 2months ago, but days were already shortening- they may have decided to wait until next year....
