Two of my three chicks died. What to do with the lonely survivor?

Last week I managed to get what was from what I can tell, the only available home-raised chickens in our area.
With the pandemic I felt much safer doing this than buying from a store.
The two that died both had pasty bottom and I hard time getting them to eat and drink from the start.

The survivor is quite healthy and friendly. However, I expect she is going to also become lonely soon.

So my question is this: Do you think it's safe to buy another chicken from the store (with the pandemic) as a companion for her or should I try to find her a new home where she can join another flock?

I think it would be safe, depending on how highly infected your area is. Go by yourself into the store, try to stay six feet away from everyone else, wipe down the box you get the chicken in and wash your hands when you get home. If you're going to be very cautious, wear gloves to handle the chick for the first few days. That's just my personal opinion though.
