Naive perhaps, but Chicken has its own vocabulary.

Chook - Like juke? or like book?
Cochin - "kin" or "chin?"
d'Uccle - "duke-la" or ???

Any other words to clarify?

Theses are great questions, and just think, probably a hundred other people had the same ones!

Chook/Book

Cochin/Co'-chin

D'Uccle Dew-clay'

Hope that helps!

chook like book
cochin like chin
d'Uccle like duh-eww'-kull (The French pronunciation would be dew-clay. They are a Belgian breed.)

If you google it, there is a pronunciation that is audible for Uccle, Belgium. They say the word "Uccle" so you can hear it.
But many many folks say dew-clay. Even my DH says dew-clay.

before I was corrected by a local breeder, I would say cock-in instead of co-chin
