Two questions about 1/2" hardware cloth

Do I need to add a pipe across there to support it?

My greenhouse is the arch top shape and I used 1 inch HDPE pipe for support. HDPE comes in a big roll for pretty cheap and in some places you can buy it by the foot off of their big roll. The other bonus is that is comes off of the roll in the exact shape you need to support the tarp. I used jumbo zip ties to the metal frame to hold them in place. I am a big proponent of using what you have laying around.

1) What's the most secure way to attach 1/2" hardware cloth to itself, with overlapping sections of about 4"? Hog rings were my first choice but the pliers are too big to use with 1/2" hardware cloth.

2) We're using the hardware cloth to cover a run like this one. On the curved sections where it has no support under it (red circle), is it likely to sag, especially over time? Do I need to add a pipe across there to support it? Those sections are approximately 6.25 feet long.

1.We used the wire that it came wrapped up with to sew it together, thereby creating no gaps between the wire.
2. If the coop is movable, I would definitely put supports there.
Also, if you plan on keeping birds out there during snowy weather. Remember when the water freezes to the wire, it will act more like a roof than a wire mesh and it will get very heavy and collapse if you don't have supports.

1. I found a cheap pair of pliers and put a notch (cheap as in soft metal) that holds a C Ring (Hog ring like...just not sharp) that I am able to clasp together. I have used this method with both the chicken coop as well as attaching perimeter fence to wire fencing. It has worked pretty good.

2. I did not do the extra support you are asking about...only the ones you initially planned to do. But then my sections are only 5' long. Perhaps you could go a little closer on the vertical supports, and skip the in-between supports.

I will try to attach a picture of the pliers, but I also recorded a video and put on YouTube that shows how I use the pliers, as well as my chick run design with PVC and hardware cloth.
