Well, I have two issues facing my flock right now, so I'll start with the one about dewormers.
I dewormed my chickens about one week ago using Wazine 17. I had thought that I could use the eggs after two weeks, but a re-check of the label indicates that it shouldn't have been used on laying hens. Well, the damage is done, so to speak. Is it possible (or advisable) to just start eating the eggs again after two weeks or should I wait longer? I can't imagine NEVER using eggs from my girls again, but I'm not sure how long I should hold off on eating them. Does anyone know what can be done in a situation like this?
Also, I've been struggling on and off with a louse problem for quite some time now. I've been using permethrin powders for a while but at this point I'm feeling like all I'm doing is creating permethrin-resistant lice. Are there any other effective, non-permethrin type products on the market besides DE?
