two questions on vinegar and feeders

Quote:
Even better, add the same to frozen apple juice (mix according to directions on the can) instead and you'll have "natural" ACV in one month, complete with the mother. MUCH cheaper than either regular ACV or the Braggs. Just don't seal it up, use a coffee filter and rubber band for a top instead.

Really? Ha you guys are awesome! I didn't know this and I'll give it a try!

thanks.

Yep, start with a good sized glop of Braggs in there, then keep it going and you'll never have to buy the stuff again. Be sure to use the frozen because it hasn't been pasteurized, which kills enzymes in it. Works much better. I do a gallon at a time and if I wont really be needing more for a while, just leave it in there however long I want rather than decanting it.

I didn't know you could do that with the Braggs and unpasturized juice! So, details

Do you keep the mixture in your fridge? I have a feeling I'm gonna be spending a lot less on ACV for my flock

(hubby will be thrilled, lol )

X2! this is a great idea!

regarding using unfiltered vs filtered, it all depends on what benefits you are looking to get from it. Many say that raw unfiltered acv aides in digestion, keep bacteria levels low, helps young birds grow feathers faster. People even take 2 tsp daily for themselves, I do!

I always have it in my girls drinking water, also helps keep the slime off the waterers. I buy a new bottle once every couple months. To me, its worth the price, which is really not that much btw.

Here is a great link that discusses the benefits:
