Two questions

Oh not dumb anyone. So nice of you.

I have good news. after coming home from work I found two eggs completely repositioned in the incubater and if you watch them closely they bump and move.
I dont see movement in the other three but seeing the two eggs move is way cool.
Since I don't see an external pip I did raise the lid quikcly to refil the water pot in the center that Brinsea said to keep full at hatch time. It was so fast the temp didn't even drop.

I do hope since we placed the eggs in the incubater before it was at temp that maybe that is the reason for the delay in hatch by a bit. Today is day number 21.

Not used to chicks. I am a wild life rehabber and specialize in baby squirrels from pinkies to release for ten years.
If I can ever help anyone in that department let me know.. Otherwise I will count on all of you kind folks to teach me.

This process with the eggs and chicks is simply a miracle. I love this. I just pray we are ok on the batch.
 
I just wanted to update. I have three of the eggs pipped out of five. Two pipped about 3:00 today and another about an hour ago.All is quiet for now but they are also peeping. YEA!!!!!

I am so excited and appreciate all of your encouragemnt to be patient. it is hard to be patient. I understand that they can now be resting to prepare for the breakout so I will let you all know how it goes.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to begin the hatch process?

Stupid question. I have read everything on hear about it. Now I just will be patient :)

That's wonderful news. I've never hatched any yet so don't take what I say as truth but it seems like I've read@Sally Sunshine somewhere from start to finish it could take 24 hours. Sally can tell you . She knows. I know it's very hard to be patient. But they have a better chance doing it on the own.

remember to not assist hatching, most times they get out fine!!

they will do an internal pip and then wait hours before doing an external, and then from the external pip it sometimes takes up to 24 hours before they actually start zipping to get out. zipping like a zipper only takes up to an hour,.

Oh my gosh is this the coolest thing ever. Four have now pipped and they are all peeping like crazy. We are so excited and hate to go to sleep tonight. They will probably all zip while we are sleeping. haha. Thanks for input. I refuse to worry at this point. These chicks will be just fine. I will update and again thanks for answering. It really helps when you are obsessing.
