Hello, it's my third time posting this so I'll shorten it.
My girlfriend and I have been trying to move a while and have been looking for a home for our roos for months across Facebook, craigslist, sanctuaries, rescues, farms etc. We have to get out of our current house within the next week so our time is pretty much up and we are panicking. The place we are moving to doesnt allow chickens. We got them both as babies in July of 2024 and I believe they are mixed but resemble New Hampshire Reds.
They are both as good around people as I've ever seen a rooster, they may peck you here and there or square up but they've never chased or attacked us or anything. They like being around people and have done really well around submissive hens. They are in their teenage phase so they can be a handful with all the hormones but they really are very sweet boys.
We have gotten offers from people who want want to put then in a field alone with no shelter and go throw food out everyday but we are trying everything we can to get them with an actual flock or with someone who has experience with roosters so they can be integrated. We are willing to send money monthly to anyone who can take them to help cover care and supplies. We just want to make sure they go to a good home that will work with them and not abuse or immediately kill them if they aren't behaving properly. We are located near Lancaster and are willing to drive anywhere we can get to in a day (up to 10-12 hour drive). Since we are in a time bind would love to be able to get them somewhere this weekend.
Please reply with any interest.
