Two Roosters One Hen, Need advice

P.s. just from personal experience, any rooster worth his feathers won't beat up his hens

I can't imagine having my flock without my rooster. He is not aggressive, to my pullets and hens or to me. Her protects my flock and finds did for the girls. I had a second rooster who has since been killed by a fox and he was the same way, and the two males did not fight. I currently am overrun with males from this year's hatches and have 16 cock/erels total in a flock of about55 including two turkeys and 16 guineas. I won't be keeping them all, obviously, but other than some light scuffles here and there there are no problems. I don't keep aggressive males or females, and recommend you don't either, but don't assume all males are a nuisance and you can't have a happy flock that includes one or more.

Not all males are aggressive, but a lot of them are.

But a really big point is space. If you have 55 hens, I am assuming that you have or at least should have a great deal of space. Advice from a large flock often times does not transfer straight across to a very small back yard flock. To me there are small flocks of less than 5 head, medium flocks of 10-12 head, and larger flocks of 25+. Advice that works for one group don't always work for another group, generally speaking to the amount of space available per head.

Very small flocks, IMO really should not have a rooster, yes some can do it successfully, but more will not.
