Two weeks of trying we finally caught him & (his buddy this morning)

Well we caught his girlfriend last night! That's 3 so far and 3 less on the farm. I think something was wrong with her she was trying to attack through the cage and she smelled like she was rotten. She may have been sick but I wouldn't touch the cage made hubby come get her. Most of the time they are pretty quite and won't even look at you when you pick the cage up. But not this one she was very aggressive. We just had a case of rabies here in ocala last month. Raccoon attacked a ladies dog at her house. So I'm extra carefull when we trap them.

Yikes - be careful with that last coon - coons are one of the very commonly infected species for rabies.

Do NOT let any blood or saliva come into contact with your bare skin, and use a shovel or gloves, etc to pick up the carcass and bury it well.

out here on long island it has started to become a problem with racoons and rabies. i believe we had 12-14 cases this yr. the county has put down these wafer things to innoculate them. hopefully it works.
we had one at work i am convinced had rabies, had it not been there and near my house it would have been put down. the cops came looked briefly for it and said oh well.
