Ideal Poultry is not MG clean, has never claimed to be and does not intend to be. NPIP does not require a hatchery or farm to be MG clean in the standard program, but does offer a separate MG program that we do not participate in. MG is a very common disease and is in most backyard flocks in the United States. Ideal Poultry supplies some breeders to most of the hatcheries in the United States therefore those flocks are also MG positive. None of the big hatcheries in the United States are MG clean. If our customers who are MG+ (again most of our customers are) obtained MG- flocks it would result in more problems and more sick chickens for them. Therefore Ideal Poultry having an MG clean flock would actually be a disservice to our customers. Ideal Poultry has provided poultry to customers since 1937 and continues to be the largest provider of backyard poultry in the United States, selling over 5 million chickens annually. I bet I could get away with that once and they'd never fight over bread treats again So much for having all natural breeds, no meds I've kept the breeding birds on all natural and even use colloidal silver. still may do that with hens that are not showing any issues at all.

Anyways, they are calling back with part 2 of test results. This is to show if the MS is horizontal or vertiical???? If it's one of those, you can still hatch eggs etc if its the other you cannot without passing it to babies.. It sort of makes sense but what got me most doc and lab said 80% wow!!!!!! Of all flocks have or will have Mycoplasma??????? They said they never suggest culling a flock because there's the 80%CHANCE the next flock will have it too. All tests they did that day were positive for everyone..............................Something feels not right here...................If all the owners of flocks here sent in samples 80%!

So basically I gave the roo a pretty hefty dose of the 200. He weighs 8 pounds at 5 months......do you think the .25 ml is enough

I would give him 0.4 ml, but 1/2 ml or 0.5 ml wouldn't hurt.

Scary thought.......what happened to the good ol days when people, horses, dogs, chickens were just simply healthy!

Some people will cull a flock when they find mycoplasma, but what's the point if most flocks are positive?
