Tylan 200 question

!!! So do u know why the 200 does that?? If I knew anything like this would happen I would of never done that!! Is there something else that works just as good but not so dangerous??
Tylan 50 also does it, as do the injectable oxytetracylines. Not sure why it happens. You can give it orally.

I wasn't aware they did that..we have used the 50 for over 4 yrs and never had that happen..( that we ever knew of) this was the first time we had any of them swell after a shot.. I know when you first inject it the meds in it will but after a lil while they were normal.. I guess I have learned a lot about this today.. I will definitely give it to them orally until I can get the 50.. (I'm more comfortable using it than I am the 200..) thank you for your time you have been most helpful!! I'm so glad to see so many ppl willing to take time from their day to help someone.. even if some of them are silly question. I think you for answering so quickly because I have been stressing over this and had no luck finding anything about it.. your awesome!!

Both are cattle medicines that are used off label in chickens. Tylan 200 is 4 times as concentrated as the 50, which cuts down on the volume, but it may be too strong. I would only give it orally, but I have given Tylan 50 injections without an issue. When giving intramuscular injections, it is always good to aspirate or pull back on the syringe for blood to make sure that you are not injecting into a vein. Also in chickens I would only inject 1/4 inch deep. Sorry about the swelling, and hopefully, it will return to normal.
