I have been reading some of the great postings on the dosing of tylan soluble powder.
And would like to ask if someone can just let me know in measurements I can understand
The correct powder to water ratio I need to give my chickens.
I am not sure what is meant by 1/4 or when they include ml/cc in the same sentence.
Also is it important to weigh my birds before administering it ?
Grams to mile litres would be good.
Sorry to be so thick.
Thank you kindly.
The vet is absolutely correct... If you are going to give the powder orally (not in water) you need to know how much she weighs. This is what I do with *all* of mine, period. I am not a vet, but I believe that most oral antibiotics are meant to be given orally, not just once a day. Weigh your hen, call your vet and ask him how much of the powder you should give as an oral drench and how many times a day to do it.He also said when we contacted this vet that we should weigh the bird to calculate the dose.
What's that all about?
Again I am sure it sounds crazy that we can not ask him but you know how these vets can be,or is it just me getting paranoid, who knows.
The thing is that chickens are up and down like a roller coaster and it is great to have something at hand to treat them as soon as possible when we can not get or afford to go to them at every cough and sniffle with them.
