Tylan 50 Help

25 gauge for chickens. Also put some VetRX on his comb and a drop in his nostrils. It will help him to breathe better. You can get it at any animal supply or Tractor Supply.
There are threads here concerning Oil of Oregeno. Check it out. This stuff build the immunity which will help to prevent colds and the like. You can give the Tylan once a day for 3 to 5 days only. Giving him the other antiobioc in his water is fine since it's not the same drug as the Tylan.
Don't worry about hurting him to much because you are tending to his needs so he will be ok. Good Luck.

Thanks for the reassurance Ranger. I'm heartbroken I had to do this to him but my friends and family are reassuring me as well that I'm doing it to help him get better.

I'm treating him for an upper respiratory. He "sneezes" and it sounds very mucus-y and every once in a while he will open his mouth and puff his chest breathing. He is doing it less now though and he is eating and drinking I just feel so bad about doing it to him.

I use 22 gauge needles to inject mine, and they aren't that much smaller.

Have also used 18's.

Thanks you guys have been a real help. My rooster is a pet and I hatched him from an egg in the incubator and raised him in the house until he could fly across the room and steal my dads mashed potatoes right off his fork haha

I know. We love our chickens on this site. Mashed potatoes!! Lol.
Fix him a scrambled or boiled egg. Great protein and good for him. Get him the VetRX. It will help with his breathing and make him feel better too! Please keep us updated.

Good news!!! The red spots are barely visible this morning!! Yay!!! He is acting better!! I feel a lot better about giving him these shots he was breathing easier and sneezing less!!

So excited! I was so worried last night I barely got any sleep. I'm ready to help him feel better by giving him his two shots one today and one tomorrow they long thing that makes my heart break is poking him with that dreaded thing. When I gave it to him yesterday he made a shrilled purr when I put the needle in and it almost made me cry but I'm just so happy he looked better this morning but he wouldn't come to me so I could check him. Poor thing was worried Id stick him again </3
