Sinus infection? Coryza?

I’m sorry that he is doing worse. I had said earlier that swollen wattles could also be fowl cholera. I am not a vet though. Sulfadimethoxine and some other sulfa antibiotics can treat fowl cholera and coryza. How does his crop feel? Is it full and hard or full and squishy? Some birds drink a ton of water when they have an impacted or sour crop.

Crop is a little empty since he hasn't been eating much. I'll look into cholera. It's just odd that the hen caught the same thing and the Tylan50 fixed her up quickly.

Also, the FOUL odor from sour crop haunts me to this day. I transported some birds for a client and the STENCH they emitted made me glad they weren't in the truck.

Update
I looked at his feces under a microscope. I know there's supposed to be a balance in micro organism and such. But there was absolutely no movement in the slide. I looked around for 15 minutes and found absolutely nothing. Maybe the Tylan has something to do with it? Like the antibiotic is killing the "biotic" micro organisms?

I really can’t say. I would to get a vet to help. I haven’t treated a bird with the swollen wattles before. My guess was that they were caused by pecking, coryza, or fowl cholera. I would try to get a sulfa drug. If you lose him, and I hope not, I would have your state vet lab perform a necropsy and they will also do testing for various diseases. Here is a list of state vets:

Update:
He has mites. I checked him again this morning and I noticed four or five little black dots. This is new, so I treated him with a few drops of ivermectin pour on. That would explain the excessive water intake and pale wattles. Having mites during an illness can make the illness worse.

I would check him to make sure the mites are dying. His area may need to be treated with permethrin spray. Mites hatch from eggs every 5-7 days, so hopefully, the ivermectin works. If not, permethrin garden dust may be applied in a sock or permethrin spray can be used at least twice 7 days apart.

I treated him before I left for work. I have a bottle of premixed premise spray, containing permethrin. Luckily hes in a wire cage so not many places for the mites and eggs to hide.
