Tylan 50

i am not sure but i have administered tylan as a shot and it worked out fine. The first time i did it, i was a little scared, but the second time was easier. BTW i am only 16 so if i could do it, i betcha anyone can do it

From what I've read on here, no.. But, there are several ways you can administer it.. You can inject it directly into the breast muscle, you can pinch a small bit of skin on the back of the neck and inject it just under the skin or you can take the actual needle off and put it directly in their mouth.. Believe it or not, injecting it into the skin on their neck is the easiest that I found... And if you put it directly into their mouth, you need to make sure they drink ALL of it.. And believe me, it tastes NASTY to them!!! I found that out the hard way...

After talking to our vet, I decided to give the Tylan 50 a try by mixing it in the water. I started the treatment yesterday, and so far things are looking good. With the combination of medicine and a nice yogurt treat, my hens seem to be feeling better. I'm keeping my fingers crossed......... I will treat them for three days and hopefully they will be back to normal. I couldn't hardly sleep last night for being worried about my girls! Thank you for the advice.

Can I ask what instructions your vet gave for giving the tylan 50 injectable in the water?
I am going to order some and just in case I don't want to do it via needle I'd do it in the water?

Thanks much
