I agree. I would try to remove the material over the eye. It is definitely from infection. I would flush the eye with saline and try to remove the solid material. The eye might be blind, but that cap of infection should be removed. You will need to get someone to help you, and holding her wrapped in a towel so that she doesn’t move would free up your hands. It may take a tool, QTips, and it might take more than one go at it. Afterward apply antibiotic ointment twice a day.

Well ok! Sounds like it’s chicken eye surgery tomorrow! I do have tweezers. We’ll see if I inherited any surgical skills from my surgeon father. ;) Wonder if my six year old could be the assistant. My husband doesn’t want to touch the chicken with a ten foot pole.
