I'm not sure what cherry valleys are, but campbells and runners are both known to be a bit nervous and high strung so if you're looking for a calm, friendly breed you might want to avoid those. I know from experience both welsh harlequins and pekins are friendly and calm as well as excellent producers. Mine aren't loud. For a really quiet breed you'd want to look at muscovies since they are the quietest breed. I had them for a little while and they seemed calm and friendly enough. The drawback to them is that they can fly so you need to keep their wings clipped or keep them in a covered pen.
