So I posted about having one goose so I'm on the hunt for a companion or two. Can I mix breeds like with chickens? We think this one is a white Chinese goose. Any suggestion on best goose breed? Ours is 3 weeks old with 2 week old ducks. The goose is super friendly, the ducks love the goose but the goose is undecided.

Oh my personal favourite is Sebastopol they have a wonderful temperment, not to mention they are beautiful!

From what i have see looks like many people have different breeds together.
But like chickens and ducks i think it may be wise to keep similar sizes togther.
I have 2 white chinese goslings . And chinese are the smallest goose in weight. At average 10 lbs
Some breeds of geese are 25-30 lbs
So you may want to look at adult size as you choose your other breeds .

We have a brown Chinese goose and a smaller sized Sebastopol gander. We've hatched two of their eggs so far, the first is about 6 weeks old and the second hatched Friday. So far the goslings are cute, but really what gosling isn't cute, but I'm dying to know what they'll look like at maturity.
