Im sorry! It sounds like you are fighting the good fight. Sounds like you have a lot of support. Here in SD we are fighting a new ordinance, but we desperatly need more sigs. How did you get so many?
With less than 10 chickens, couldn't you consider them pets? So if you can't have your pets on your property, then I guess your neighbors need to find a new home for their dog

We made up petition sheets (on a cheap clipboard with pen) and placed them in stores and gas stations and feed stores. The one feed store (Futrals) let us sit outside and collect sigs that way as well. Make sure your petitons have room for Name, Sig and address. Definately get your local TV stations and news paper involved it helped us enormously. We started off with the "Pet" theory and the media steered it to the economy as so many people are struggling right now and need to able to food on the table ie Eggs and Veg gardens. One of the local churches is starting a community garden next to it and I am "donating" all my chicken poo to them
I am not doing this for me anymore as HOA's bylaws trump County laws, so we are moving. In the meantime I am sticking to it for everyone else in Lee county who wants to have backyard chickens.
"I have chickens near my home and it looks like a jungle - they aren't caged in. Soon people will say they need goats and cows to milk and pigs. It's not worth it."
I had a similar problem last year, however a little different. I was trying to change our ordinaces and had tons of support, but one neighbor decided to play the lowering home values card and ticked and moaned about noise, smell and rodents. Well after 5 months and 6 village board meeting later, I won and now have 4 13 week old chicks. good luck to you
