Typing emojis jumps them to the next line

I'm on a PC.

Example: Try type this in a post: Happy Birthday, then type the emoji for cake. :cake
A drop-down comes up, and you want this one.

It's bringing it to the next line instead of putting it where I put it.

I am in the habit of typing emojis, so if this can't be fixed, I'll find a workaround.

For greeting people in New Members forum, my workaround was to start the sentence with the . Then it stays there, but anywhere else, it moves it.

It's faster than going to the top left, click the "smilies," typing or scrolling for what you want, then click it. It stays stuck if we do it that way. It just takes another two seconds, lol.

Yes it's pretty annoying. I regularly use the codes to post an emoji however using the emoji icon works ok. Id rather be able to quickly use a code.

Hm. That is odd. To be honest I did not know that you could even find emojis like this. This is definitely annoying.

It’s been driving me insane

I have noticed that if you type in the whole code and don’t click the drop-down or hit enter, it stays where you put it. Like this:

Yep I noted it also but figured it was never going to get fixed so I just do like I have done for the past 30 years working on systems and moved on to whine about the next thing that is bothering me.

I'll post that in a new thread though

Well I know this is on a "list" so that's a good thing at least. Just how far down, I'm not sure.

I have faith, though.
