Tyson "chickens out" (business article)

We had a neighbor who was a food consultant, and Tyson was one of her biggest clients. Normally, I take these types stories with a grain iof salt, but in the case of Tyson, I'm inclined to believe them.

This company is evil in my opinion.

Not a problem for me. I stopped eating CAFO poultry awhile ago. You should see the trucks full of birds headed to the processor, it's inconscienable. I can't understand how people can be so outraged when they see a person hit their dog, but a truckload of obviously abused, half dead birds is perfectly acceptable. I can't imagine the Chinese doing any worse.

I realize and agree with what you are saying, but... we are the reason these companies have sky rocketed. We want the best, biggest and brightest to show off to our friends.
Instead dealing with the items we can make due with.

I know a man that goes into restraunts here in Maine. The one thing that he told me was ice makers. We all think Ice Makers are safe because its to cold for mold to grow. If you could go in and look, you would be so grossed out! Holy cow, the black mold. He always asks "when was the last time you cleaned the ice machine" most replies would horrify you...so you think US foods are any better?
I am not telling you not to own, grow or eat local, but if we do not understand what else is going on in our "mom and pop" eateries, then how can we trust those in a chain or where teens are cooking! UCKY!

i would think this would be correct. every week, a tanker full of chicken gets exported out of the port of houston to countries like china and russia. this is why there is so much pressure in texas on back yard poultry enthusiasts. any kind of outbreak and the big chicken companies would lose millions since they wouldn't be able to export the chicken.

Tyson is a Southern factory chicken company of the worst sort. They epitiomize the evils of factory farming, treating both the chickens and the meat packing workers with utter disregard.

I hope they go out of business. That would be a wonderful silverlining to these current economic woes.

My wifes side of the family is in the big chicken business, raising for Tyson, her uncle is an on site rep for the co. You really have no Idea how many drugs and chemicals the co requires these growers to force feed these birds. I will give you an idea, more than Amy Winehouse, most rock & roll stars, and celebs put together. then we gladly pay the price to eat this garbage!!!!!! .

To talk about evil companys you have to mention Monsanto.they are something else. One of the things they are trying is to get a worldwide patent on the DNA of a PIG. If they are successful everytime a pig is born in the world the owner of that pig would have to pay monsanto a fee.Just do a youtube search on the name Monsanto

Wow!!! Monsanto huh, that just goes to show the lengths at which these co's will go, will it ever end???

All I can say is
