U.S.P.S. DOE'S IT AGAIN! Shipping eggs

FED EX is the only way to go for egg shipment. Never a problem with them, and I get a smile and a thank you on top of it !!

Sorry to hear of all of your difficulty! I have had similar problems including magazine subscriptions cancelled because it was sent to the wrong folks who sent it back as wrong address. I also had the tags for my car misdelivered. I never received them so I had to pay for 'replacement' tags even though I never got them in the first place. Two weeks later a guy showed up at my door and gave the letter to my son. For awhile mail misdelivery was a weekly occurance.

I did go to the Postmaster and visited with him. He said he had problems with that rout (ie bad employee on that rout). After our chat it actually did get much better. I had to go down twice over a year to get it really better. I have a friend with the same problem and they ended up changing their street address so it was not similar to another one where their letters sometimes showed up. No kidding. Had to change their street address. It did solve their problem.

I would recommend that anyone with chronic misdelivery/delayed deivery go down in person and talk to the Postmaster and see why they are having problems. A phone call wont work. Whenever I get misdelivered mail I clearly write 'delivered to wrong address, please redeliver' so the recipient knows why it was delayed.

Good luck on the next batch!

I just got off the phone with my Post Master about 20 minutes ago. She was just as nice as the others were stupid. Actually the woman I spoke to at my PO yesterday was the only one there I have ever had a problem with. It just got worse as I made all of the other calls. Customer service had me on hold for over an hour and then disconnected my call. When I called back it went to the recording telling me they were closed and what time to call back.

She's guarding my box and hubby will pick it up at 8:30 as soon as they open.

I had almost mentioned I now see the reason for the term Going Postal in my first post, but as you see on this the thread I had that conspiracy theory myself.

Glad it wa s brought up Not by me this time

While we were on the phone I was told the best way to ship future eggs is through Express Mail. The boxes are handled differently and arrive in 2 days. They hold them at the PO and call you for pick up. No bad truck rides.

I agree that Fedex is a much better way to ship. My exSIL works for them as a supervisor and he doesn't deal well with bad service. Fedex has always been a good source.

UPS

Not only have they delivered soooooo many smashed packages to me, but I about 3 years ago I saw them kick two huge boxes off the truck, kick it up my next door neighbor's driveway and who knows what afetr he got them up there. Then he left them on the sidewalk. Not even on the porch only 2 step up. My neighbor lots 2 big screens that day.

Renee!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll tell Bill to try and sniff around and see if they have your package too

So sorry for everyone else's horror deliveries. We all know what it feels like. We may need a support group. Oh yeah..........that's why I post in here.........duh!

I have 2 words left to say........

Unless you live in Alaska.
UPS and FedEx are notorious for not delivering, for the silliest of excuses. I am sorry, if you want to work in Alaska, then accept the fact that your job details that you will deliever anywhere in the world on time.
Most Alaskans also do nto have rural delivery. PO boxes are the norm.
Guess what that does to us?
"Oh, I am sorry, we will not deliver to you because you do not use your physical address for mail, or because you are considered International Delivery."

As long as I live here, I will never buy hatching eggs, unless I buy them in person, locally.
