UFOs/UAPs and anything else paranormal

Well, seeing as I think a lot of them are supernatural, I'd definitely count that!
I've also seen a ghost. I was working on the computer, when I saw something and looked up. It was one mean looking ghost too! i screamed and called my mom, but by the time she got there, it was gone. She and my dad said it was probably a change in the light, but the light was coming from a small desk lamp. Nobody was over there, including the dogs. So what would have moved the lamp?

If you'd told me that 3 months ago, I would have said, sure, you probably thought that, but it's really unlikely. Not now.

Late 1970s in Gulf Hammock, Florida. My uncle had been back from Vietnam for a few years. Him and a buddy were coon hunting one night and a metallic, disk-shaped, small, craft that had multi colored lights around the side and a bright light in the middle, came across a field and lowered into a cypress pond. After spending a short amount of time in the cypress pond, it rose, retraced its path across the field, then shot up into the sky and was gone.

1990s, the same uncle owned a logging company at that point. Him, my dad, and the logging crew were working in the woods during the day and a wing-shaped craft that was mostly invisible, but could still be seen in outline, flew across the tree line near them and they all got a good look at it form.

Analysis of each:

1. For years my uncle presumed that the disk he saw was "otherworldly," but now he thinks it was just some sort of experimental government craft. He had the impression the bright light in the middle was its power source and that it needed water from the cypress pond to function. When it went down into the cypress pond, it was likely filling its water store. The disk was only large enough for a couple of normal-sized humans to pilot and it was probably smaller than a modern jet fighter. It was silent in its operation.

2. The logging crew believed that they merely saw a stealth bomber with some sort of cloaking camouflage. I was a teenager when that happened and I remember my uncle telling my grandmother about it and he only reported as seeing a stealth bomber in the woods that day and how neat it was. They presumed the invisibility cloak was just a part of the normal technology of the plane. I have also heard my dad talk about it in the recent years before his death. He too just thought it was a stealth bomber and the active camo was just a part of what made it what it was.

Like Bigfoot, I have a tendency to believe the truth of UFOs is multi-faceted. Most of it is mistaken identity. Some of it is experimental human craft. Some of it is demonic deception. I am aware that John Keel, a famous UFO researcher who was the first to put forth the idea that UFO "aliens" come from another dimension and not the space of our universe, believed based upon his research that the entities behind UFO encounters were deceptive and that they were caused by spiritual entities with hostile intent towards mankind. I am not aware if he believed them to be Biblical demons or not, but that is what I suspect. When a UFO encounter trends more towards contact with entities or observations of balls of light that don't necessarily look like physical space craft, I have a tendency to consider that if that event really happened at all, it was contact with a demon that wishes to deceive the experiencer. When the UFO sighting is more one of what appears to be a strange but physical craft (again assuming the even really happened and isn't one of mistaken identity), then I consider human origins the likely explanation.

I figure the Roswell crash was a governmental aircraft of amazing but (then) uncontrollable abilities, unlocked by the new science of the nuclear era, and that alien conspiracy theories are convenient cover for what's otherwise human-created air or space craft.

My brother more recently watched lights of amazing aerial abilities zoom all around a coastal power plant every night over the course of a weekend, and he watched jet fighters attempt to intercept them multiple times. The impression he had is that the lights were likely some sort of advanced drone or unknown craft, but under U.S. military control, that was being used to test the fighter pilots or the defenses around the coast. The lights could shoot up beyond sight as if going high into the atmosphere or space and return again, and the jets couldn't keep up with them. But he believed the lights were not causing a panic beyond the jets scrambling and attempting to intercept them. It seemed like someone on the ground knew what was going on.

Thank you! I love hearing this stuff, and genuinely appreciate you taking the time to write that!

Yes, as a bit of an amateur astronomer, I've seen some stuff some would call "UFOs" that for me and a lot of other people are "IFOs" (identified flying objects). I also think that some flying saucer sightings may be instances of power of suggestion, just seeing it because a lot of people are talking about it.

I may have put this in the bigfoot thread, but there is another Christian podcast who recently dropped an entire series on UFOs, if you are interested. I found it really helpful!
