Opened the second vent plug as instructed and having a heck of a time getting the humidity up even with adding water to all wells, plus a margarine tub of water, damp washcloth and now a sponge too!!

*sigh*

What's my target, again? 60%? I'm barely holding on to 40% which wasn't hard to reach up until now ...

I never open the vent plugs until it hits over 70%, which it will when they start pipping.

Edited to add: you want to aim for at least 60%; 65% is good.

I never have the vent plugs in and have no problem keeping humidity up. I would think the air in the room is very, VERY dry. Try a humidifier, maybe. That babies are going to need that air.

I run a humidifier in the room with my incubator. It is a pretty dry climate here so that helps keep it where I need it to be. Have a good hatch.

I'm at work now, but DH is home setting up the humidifier in my home office, which is where we set up the 'bator because the cats are NOT ALLOWED in there.
