UGH!! Loaded Incubator - Received notice of power outage..

We got a power inverter from Walmart so the wife could use her laptop on trips. It should run your bator just fine unless it's a sportsman or something. i think it was about 30 bucks

good luck with your hatch Dan

Wrap the incubator in blankets that you have pre-warmed. Even better if you have a gas dryer. Even better if you have a down quilt.

There will be enough oxygen in the incubator for four hours and the eggs themselves should not lose more than a couple of degrees internally( if that) in that period of time.

Is the incubator in an enclosed room? Perhaps you could crank up the heat in the room using a space heater. (Non-electric, of course!)

Do you have a UPS Battery backup for your computer to plug into? If so you can plug your incubator into it and it should run the incubator for a while if it's a little giant or a small incubator similar to that. Maybe even ask some of your friends if they have one you can borrow as well, then if there are problems and the outage last longer you'll be covered. Good Luck

Get a propane top heater and keep that room warm? They have those propane tent heaters that are pretty cheap. Put the Bator in a bathroom or somewhere its smaller and easier to raise the heat. Im sure you can get really creative since you have good warning. What about hot water bottles? Hand warmers? keep us updated!

I dont like wraping them. It holds the warmer but its in the "growing wrong" temp. I would rather just let them cool an stop growing. Wrapping cuts down on air too.

Well there ya go. From someone who probably hatches way more than I do.... They should be fine for just a few hours, though.
