The nest boxes are a shelving system I bought at a store in Brewer, ME called Mardens, its like a mini- Big Lots, this lovely set of 5 honey comb shelves were $12.99. I plastic wire tied hardware cloth to the back, used washers & screws and secured it to the wall, then cut the handles off of "free" paint stirers from the hardware store, drilled them, and wire tied them onto the front so the eggs dont roll out. The are lined with cardboard from old boxes, and I need to get some hay for nesting. My girls are only 5 weeks so I still have some time....
and thanks......I worked so stinkin' hard on this building, replacing rotton wood, and painting, and roofing....I hate doing all that stuff, but loved the results.
Not sure about higher standards being mine, my hubby likes things cutsy, cozy, and I had to be sure to make it look like a nice hobby, not something that'll hurt our homes future resale value...bla...bla...bla....
