Today I saw one of my hens walking around with this.

Well, it was a bit bigger, but I put some ice on it (with a soft cloth!) and this is the result.

I had a prolapsed chicken before but it wasn't that bad.

I mean, I tried to put the prolapse back in but it keeps coming out. The hen doesn't seem to want it inside and pushes to take it out.

Then it inflates like a ****ing balloon... I thought it was an egg but I touched it (with gloves) and it felt like soft tissue...

I isolated her and will look for a vet ASAP, but I'd like some chicken people's advice and support... Is there anything else I can do for her? She can barely poop :/

For the time being, I put her in a box with clean paper (I know, not the best choice, but I like that it's clean because the prolapse was full of dirt before I found her). She is resting there. She can't sit but she is sleeping standing up like a lot of birds do.

Is there any food I can/should give her?

Keep the exposed tissue moist with a cream or honey, don't let it dry out. Have her separated inside.
All the food you need to give her is her regular feed.
Get some calcium citrate +D3 into her asap though, as she may be having trouble with an egg you can't see.

Will she be ok? I mean, how bad does this look?

Put some plastic gloves on and try to push it back inside her - 2 of my hens did this - poor Minnie and S’more- both of there prolapses went back in

I've tried, but she pushes it back out. She probably feels uncomfortable when I push it back inside her because it is still very swollen. Hopefully the vet will give her antiinflammatories

For now: spray it thoroughly with a sterile saline solution to cleanse it; put her where flies can't get to her; smear the exposed tissue with vaseline, honey or neosporiin original formula, that does NOT have pain reliever in it, OR Preparation H, which may help shrink the tissue a bit. Good luck.

You can make saline solution by boiling a quart of water, letting it cool, and adding 2 tsp salt and a pinch of baking soda. Put a lid on it and shake till the salt dissolves.

Both mine did the same thing - but after s’more got 2 eggs inside her trying to push them out at once I had to try again. And sure enough s’mores went back in and tried with Minnie and hers went in too! :)

She should be ok, it's really not that bad, it's pretty normal for a prolapse I'd say. :)
I've seen much worse.

Thank you everyone for the responses. This is how it looks today.

I really hope that's not necrotic tissue. And you can see some yolk there. She left a lot of yolk, poop, and other fluids in the box.

Her vet gave her Meloxicam and tomorrow she'll be seen by an avian specialist, but does she have that time?

I'm worried about the yolk.

She feels great, though (!!?) She walks around in the room trying to escape and go back with her friends.
