Those quick little jaunts over to the neighbor's a couple hundred yards across the lake suddenly have more context.

One of them didn't make it, but she was always really struggling, poor baby. We still have 4 healthy little ones, one hatching now, and 6 in the incubator. It's so sad, even though I know that's how nature works.

The one that didn't make it was the one that was struggling last night. The first one, who started "The Hatchening", is Valentine, and she/he is doing very well.

I had to let Loki and Downey (Mama and Papa- or ONE of the paps ) come outside since it's warmer, then I've gotta keep DoorDashing for that prefab coop, because I seriously doubt they're all going to fit in my bedroom.

I moved them to a larger one, but they love to huddle together under the lamp. No shivering, so they're okay! They're getting upgraded to the big plastic thing tomorrow
