Uh oh... found an egg today! ... - A journal of sorts, from finding eggs to hatching them... Update

Found a couple of sites with some info on fart eggs Here & Here that you may have seen already? One says they are possibly from young starting to lay pullets, & not as likely from mature hens, while the other says it may be just an anomoly in the reproductive tract @ this time with one of your hens?

As your first has a yolk it could be that one of your young females is gearing up early; you may soon have that incubator running

Could be any day now for you too! It will be interesting to see when your Hens start and stop compared to my 1st timers. We have similar aged Hens (that are related, lol) and fairly similar weather.​

One I had seen the other I hadn't. Interesting that they used to be called cock eggs by some, and the cocks took the blame for the yolkless eggs, lol... somehow that doesn't seem fair

I'm pretty sure these other eggs I've found all have yolks, so I can only blame the first timer Hen for these.

Guess I'll go do another egg scan in my coops. Ugh I'm really not ready for egg collecting yet... lol

Bit off topic, but sorta to do with eggs

Hatched 10 keets over night under 2 chooks..... all eggs from my pearl and lav pieds, (there were a couple of possible split cinnamons amonst) And have 8 pearl pied, 1 heavily pied lavender...... and one heavily pied red-eyed cinnamon

It's the heaviest pied cinnamon I have hatched!!! And out of my splits!!! I am extremely excited, have wanted one like this since I got cinnamons

Up to 3 eggs a day now... 2 small eggs from one coop, 1 average sized egg from another. I told the birds I wasn't ready for eggs yet but they are not listening
