LOL, I know can't fight it... I'm addicted to hatching

I sold the batch of Hens that had started to lay first, but now my new flock of keepers is laying 5 eggs a day for me. And I'm done waiting out the wormer withdrawal time and have started collecting eggs from them for incubating. I should be able to put in a full load by next weekend, maybe sooner if a few more Hens start laying. No broodies to use tho, just incubators. I'm not real confident about the fertility rate from this flock of first timers, but we'll see. If it's not great, my fail-proof flocks should be kicking it into gear with their egg laying pretty soon. I am really anxious to see what hatches from the newest flock tho, I kept a lot of new colors... so I'm hoping for them to hatch out even more new colors for me. Will be like Christmas again, really colorful hatches each time

A broodie Peahen, lol... yes please post pics. And of course I wanna see those new Pied babies too!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeegggggggggggggggggggssssssssssssss! Wish mine were laying.. This year I would like to find some new colors to get since I only have 4 females (pearl, lavendar pied, and lavendar) and all the rest are males! That means I have a dozen males out there!

What color males do you have? How many are you keeping?
We need new pics of your all-grown-up-now flock!!!

Pearl, Pearl Pieds, and Lavendars.
I think I may have mistaken how many females I have. I did the voice test last night and put them all in these 2 XL-Large crates and I had a smaller one to put one in.
Guess how many females I have now?? 2!! A pearl and a Lavendar (I think she may be pied since she has some white feathers.) All the others made a Chi-Chi-Chi sound.
I'm so mad! I have 14 males and only 2 females out of all of those! I'm going to get some hatching eggs this year or I might order some Royal Purples from the feed store.

I'm going to keep a pearl Pied and Lavendar males then the Pearl and Lavendar females.
I'll get some pictures later today, I would go out now and take pictures, but they are all sleeping and when I wake them up they all poop this nasty goo-ey stinky poo. Its aweful!!

Hens will also make the chi-chi-chi-chi alarm call when they are startled, spooked, mad etc (but the males never buckwheat)... so maybe you just didn't wait long enough for her (and maybe a couple others?) to buck-wheat?

Sorry for the confusion

... but I meant maybe you didn't separate them (and wait) long enough to be able to get a buckwheat out of the possible Hen. Sometimes it takes mine quite a while for their separation anxiety to build up enough for them to start calling to the others.

Ohhhh! Sorry I caught somthing from my mom and I feel aweful. Anyway, I took a couple pictures and I can't get them uploaded.. With this new BYC format its making my laptop work harder and it just doesn't want to upload them. Sorry.
