So recently I’ve notice that one of our Buff orpingtons has been getting a huge comb and wattles. Is Matilda actually a Matt? She is 17 weeks old.

I’m not sure since she’s also rather small and lower on the pecking order.

that is a pretty big comb for an 11 week old, huge in fact. that chicken has a big chance of being a cockerel! I had a roo that was a lavender Orpington and he was sweet docile and lower on the pecking order too. He also had half or 1/4 of a comb that that one has.

I was dumb and put the wrong age. I actually have an 11 week old lavender Orpington roo haha. I mixed up the ages of the two groups. Tilda is 17 weeks old.
