We are planning to get a couple more hens tonight or tomorrow and have someone lined up to take the Rooster. Should we move the Rooster out before we put the hens in? or do it all at once?
Normally, you would quarantine new birds for at least 30 days before adding them to your flock to try to prevent disease transmission, but since you will have only one hen to risk, at least check them over really well. Please do not take them home if they look ratty or have discharge from eyes, nares (nostrils) or smell bad-check them over closely for lice/mites, too.
