UH OH! some1 gave me FREE FERTILE EGGS! here i go again :D QUESTOINS!

today i bought 4 cute lil silkie chix and the guy had every other kind of chicken imangenable! right before we left he handed me a egg carton and then he said these r for u! then he said he always gives little kids free fertile eggs if they have a bator.
he showed me the tiniest egg i have ever seen and he called it a bbr red i think. he also put a duck egg in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't know nothing about ducks!!!!!!!!
i just couldn't tell him no thank you.
do they take 21 days to hatch too???
do i treat and feed the chix the same way as chicken chix???

Don't know the answers but those are cute chix! The littlest egg looks like my bobwhite quail eggs!

Ducks take more humidity and like an extra week I think . I am new though so make shure you get it varified by someone who actually knows for shure

no fair! i want free fertile eggs.

I only have 2 hens and a female duck. So i dont gather enough eggs to fill my incubator, or even make it worth turning it on.

but congrats on yours! cant wait to see them!

ducks take 28 days to incubate while chickens take 21. The looks like the bbred eggs I have.

Yup....28 days on the duck eggs...and they like a higher humidity.
