It is quite normal for them to be a very pale blue and until you see them sat next to a white egg, it can be a bit disappointing, particularly if you are looking at them in bright sunlight. The shells generally have the most pigment in them at the start of their cycle and get paler as they get towards moult, but it may just be that your expectation was a little high. I know I've seen photos of unnaturally blue eggs here on BYC and wonder what type of filter or lighting people are using when they have taken the photo.
To my mind, if you get legbars you should also have some leghorns, so that there white eggs set your blue eggs off to best advantage. Some exchequer leghorns would make a very pretty addition to your flock ;) Then you just need some Marans because the dark brown and pale blue look really pretty together and then of course you can start cross breeding for green and olive. :ya

I went to the auction with Marans or Legbar on my shopping list-but the Marans were just too expensive !

I probably have room for 10 in the current set-up, so still space for a few more :D
