Here is a pic of Joffrey with his cutie mates. Joffrey is the one drinking the water. He was initially taking pecks at them but they are pretty tolerant and I think Joffrey now is gradually becoming grateful for their company lol. The little cute mates which we havent named yet are settling in well, Im pretty content that they will all be happy together.

How cute are those! I'm so pleased Joffrey is taking to them. He sure will appreciate it in the long run.
Mmmmm.... I see Joffrey is getting his feathers, they look white (ish). Or he could be a blue splash. I have only had one blue splash but I got him when he was grown up and he didn't have black legs. I didn't see him when he was a chick.

Yorkshire Coop your guy looks a really proud and handsome guy. Im keen now to see how Joffrey grows maybe he will be as handsome as your guy. (I thnk Joffrey is a guy coz he has a guys attitude lol :lau,) I love him to bits really and I will post pics at a later stage for you to see. Maybe next year i might get another poland or two. I need to start thinking of getting a coop next, I saw a nice small one on the domestic fowl trust website which maybe handy for my 4 bantams. Need to see how the weather goes, but still early days yet.

Reposting from the Say Hello thread as I was told this UK thread may be the place for me...

Hello and greetings all. I have been lurking the site for quite some time but finally decided to become a member as I am seeking some personal advice and BYC seems to be THE place for all things chicken. I moved to Northern Ireland from California about a year ago and purchased 4 chickens about 6 months ago. I lost one bird early on to what I believe was Coryza. Culling her was an early and very harsh lesson as she had become my favorite of the four. Unfortunatly I had not done enough research on checking the birds before I purchased them from a local farmer and I am almost certain that the birds were sick when they were sold to me. One has a wonky toe as well. Hindsight is 20/20. Lesson learned. I obtained the birds for eggs but they have since become as much pet as egg producers. They are named after The Golden Girls. Sophia was a Blue Maran, Dorthy is a Barnvelder, Rose is a Wyandotte and Blanche is a Black Maran. I have learned a lot already thanks to BYC and other internet resources and books that I have bought but it is only a drop in the bucket as I seem to be learning new things about them daily. Greetings all. I look forward to becoming a more active member of the site.
