Look what I found today.... not sure if its my white poland or one of my white silkies... I think its the poland though as she has very red wattles. None of them appear to be brooding near the egg and silkies are brooding types arent they.

You should take them out as soon as really. Unless you want a broody! The longer it is in there the more chance it could get broken. Then you end up with potential egg pecking! That's a good size egg for a first. You'll have to make something nice to eat it with!

Oh cool I put it back i in case one of the hens got upset... I was thinking of trying to propogate it lol,, first chicken lol
 
Thanks! It's given me a bit of gusto back! Im replacing the coop. It's going to be a real pain to do and a bit of an upheaval for the hens. But I need to use one of the other coops as a broody pen. I want to hatch some brahmas later in the year. So this is a bit earlier than I wanted but I'm happy it's earlier.

Its good that you are looking and planning ahead, nice time of year to get things sorted ready for the summer. :D
