Thank you very much, glad I signed up. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

We are glad you did too! It is a great place here and as addictive as chickens

Welcome!

I must admit I caved. I bought quail...

:woot

Mine have been hatching for a couple of days now as the Harlequin hatched early :)

The Harlequin are super tiny :love

I've got 24 eggs in incubator (will hopefully hatch on the 15th), but they are off ebay and I am not sure they are all fertile/survived the shipping. I got 5+1 6month olds yesterday from a very nice lady from nearby village.

Good luck with the eggs :fl I understand your concern with eBay :(

Fingers crossed for your ones in the incubator. :fl
But I guess if you have some 6 month olds you'll be getting your own fertilised eggs. Quail can multiply fairly quick!:jumpy:jumpy

Hello from North Yorkshire everyone I've had chickens in the past and after many years without them, I'm now waiting on a call to begin my new flock. I'm rescuing 6 battery hens soon with the help of The British Hen Welfare Trust, sometime during the month of April.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all get up to with your birds !
Hi Welcome, its great to have people here to share our interests. Everyone is so helpful :)

Are you sure it's not chocolate!?!
Nooooooooo hahaha I guess I wish lol. Well whoever left the eggs ( in the same place) walked off and left them there. I shall collect them over easter and try to propogate them I think they will be white poland bantams. None of the chickens have wanted to sit on the egg. Any further eggs then I shall see if they are edible lol

Hi I bought 6 white poland hatching eggs from ebay and ended up with Joffrey,my white poland rooster, but he hatched a dark grey before the white feathers come out, so a bit of a mix.. Maybe it depends on the source, I guess in a few days you will be able to candle them, do let us know if they are fertile, Im sure you will love them all anyway :D
