UK Member Please Say HI

Is there any breeds you recommend?
there is a breed or three for more or less any circumstance. The trick is to find a breed that suits the conditions you have - think along the lines of the gardening motto 'right plant right place'.

Whether you're going to let them free range or pen them is an important criterion; some birds can't handle confinement, while others are not at all predator aware, or are poor foragers. Some people want their birds to be pets, so need a placid type, while others want their birds to largely fend for themselves, so something more lively is best suited there. Some want lots of eggs, others care more about appearance - there are just loads of possibilities. If you make a list of what you are looking for, you can then search for a breed that fits. There are some good comparison sites to help, e.g. http://www.sagehenfarmlodi.com/chooks/chooks.html (aka Henderson's handy dandy chicken chart).

Thank you :) Did lots of research for the plymouth rocks (as their supposed to be super friendly, curious and docile, dual-purpose and good egg layers and very hardy (as it's cold in the uk and they're going to free range in the garden)). But the site will definitely help as I grow my flock :highfive: very exciting!

Im not trying to seperate this forum up but i thought it would be nice to know who and how many UK based members there are here

The main reason is then as the members in USA conduct Egg Swaps and Counrty and County based Sales and Advice then we can see who would be best to ask for local advise

So Any UK member just say Hi and state which Town/County your in
