Oh no ! Sorry you lost some.
Bless those little fluff balls.

Mine with an unclosed navel was weak and is 2 days younger than the others, so is getting bossed a bit. Starting to hold its own now it's been 8 hours since it got out.

Hope yours recovers v.soon.

Thankyou I expected it as one had a detached aircell. Have you been giving it electrolytes? Mine are big chicks they're the same size as my ducklings when they hatched

Woah !
Ducking sized chicks - how does that happen?

I don't know about electrolytes... what've I not read that I should've done?

God knows must be big chickens!! You can give sugar water or chick vitamins it gives weak chicks a boost. I always put some in their water for the first few days!

Unfortunately I lost a chick lastnight :( it was the weak chick I think when it lost some blood due to hatching with a open navel it might have lost to much before I got to it. Poor thing

So sad. I'm sorry.
You did what you could.

How are the others getting on?
Thankyou! Yeah they're great proper fluff balls. How are yours? I do wish I had a broody mama to look after them though I do have a broody duck but she already has two big Aylesbury ducklings and they'll probably kill them!

What kind of things will a broody mama do for them?
I've not got one either, so hopefully I can do a decent enough job.
